Victor Salazar and his family move to Creekwood, Atlanta from Texas and he hopes he has the freedom to explore his identity in this new place. When he realises it's not that easy to figure out who he is, he reaches out to Simon for advice.

When news of his Ferris wheel ride with Mia comes out, Victor becomes popular overnight and his plans to stay under the radar fly out the window. He applies to work at a café and discovers that Benji, the cutest gay guy at school, also works there.

Determined to figure out his feelings, Victor asks Mia out on their first real date to Battle of the Bands. However, when Victor learns that Benji will be performing there, he decides to change his plans so he can give Mia his full attention.

Pilar opens up to Victor about the romantic messages she found on Isabel's Facebook. They decide to get to the bottom of what happened between their mother and the mysterious Roger back in Texas. Meanwhile, Mia's meets her dad's new girlfriend.

Trying to ease tension at home, Victor decides to let his family throw him a birthday party, but the peace is threatened when Benji and his boyfriend meet Victor's old-fashioned grandparents.

Victor is nervous when Mia says she wants to take their relationship to the next level.
